Significant Mundanity

Our lives are full of things that an onlooker might consider insignificant. That bowl we usually eat breakfast from. That jumper that feels cosy. The pair of shoes that fit just so. The chair that cradles our body perfectly. And then there are the many apparently insignificant acts. Making the first coffee of the day. Buying a train ticket. A phone call. A walk. If other people even notice these things and acts, they only see the mundaneness. But our repeated choices to use the mundane objects and do the mundane acts creates meaning in our lives. The objects become precious, and the acts become ritual.

Significant Mundanity celebrates the importance of our objects and acts. It is a message to the world that the mundane can be where the most significance can be found. Pay attention to the details of your world and you may find your deepest significance.
